What is your job here at MVNU?
My job here at MVNU, I am a GPS-Technician for Newark. As a GPS-Tech, I have to responsibility to help student making sure they have a smooth journey as much as possible with their computer and school access. This could be troubleshooting a network problem, resetting a password, or fixing a program that crashed.

Where are you from?
I am a long time resident of Gambier, Ohio located in Knox County, east of Mount Vernon. My high-school that I attended was East Knox located in Howard, OH.

Education Information (college attended, major, how you got into IT)
I got into I.T. during my freshman year of high school; I was home-schooled during this time and took a liking towards working on computer. My junior & Senior year of high school, I attended Knox County Career Center Information Technology Program and started really understanding computers, networking and the technology field more. This is where I graduated in the spring of 2013. I am a current student at Central Ohio Technical College working for an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering Major.

Best book you’ve read in the last year
The best book I have read within the last year is a short story by Jack London called "The Call of The Wild" (1903).

Favorite movie and favorite movie quote
When I get asked “What is your favorite Movie?" I have a hard time trying to narrow it down to one movie. So I will give a couple. The Pirates of the Caribbean Series, Sargent Bilko and Major Pain. My Favorite Movie quote would have to be "Wait a minute, wait a minute. You ain't heard nothin' yet!"

If you could have any Superhero ability/power, what would it be?
When asked the question “If you could have any Superhero ability/power, what would it be?" I had one thing to say. The Power to Refill. The reason behind it is, if someone is low on Gas, refill! If someone is low on energy or down is spirit, Refill to boost them back up. It not just to help yourself out but also to help other as well.

Join the Mother Ship!

MotherBoard is always willing to accept applications for employment and will gladly meet with you in person to discuss possible job availability. Follow these steps to apply to become a MOBO

  1. Fill out an application for employment on MVNU’s HR site found here
  2. Contact Josh at ext. 5551 and schedule an appointment to come down to meet the staff and interview.
  3. Bring any Resume, references, or job history with you.

The qualifications that we look for in students to work in the MotherBoard office are:

  1. A servants heart - We are constantly bombarded with urgent requests for support and help and we challenge the stereotype of technical support by providing person-centered care.
  2. Flexibility - things can change at a moment’s notice in the HelpDesk and we want to find students who can maintain an even keel if asked to drop what they had planned to do at a moments notice.
  3. An eagerness to learn - Being part of an educational institution, we feel the importance to know technology is best taught through experience and on-hand learning. For this reason, we don’t look only for Technology Majors, but anyone interested and willing to learn about computers.
