| Please give us 2 business days to process
your request and read carefully the information below. We will give you an
email when your account has been created. |
| Please note the
following information: |
- This network storage space is currently NOT backed-up, it is being
provided to allow for basic video editing projects as a temporary fix
for this year. If you have very important projects that you need saved,
we recommend you purchase a portable firewire or usb drive to backup
your data.
- Each user has a storage quota allocated to them of 15 GB. Please
keep your storage area cleaned up and delete projects as you are
finished with them. If you need more quota please email the helpdesk.
- When you edit your project, start the project by saving to the
"persistent storage" drive on the system. Utilize this space for
editing, and then copy your project up to the server at the end of your
session. If there is not enough room on the persistent storage, clean
other projects off, and empty the trash. Please realize this persistent storage drive
is being used as temporary storage space so if you leave your project
there and don't copy it to the server it may be gone when you return.
- There is only gigabit Ethernet available in the Library. You are
able to mount the drive from the Macintosh lab in Founders 208, but
speed to access it will be slow. As before, make sure you take the time
to copy back up to the server but speeds are 1/10th the speed as in the
library.
- This is to be ONLY used for video editing storage. Please do not put
non-video related items on it.
- The password for this storage is unique to the other passwords on
campus (different than email, admin web, Novell login).
